Why would you bother buying second-hand goods?
Of course. there's more than one reason. Maybe it's because you can buy high-quality items at a reasonable price. or because the designs and ideas are interesting in ways that don't occur to you in today's conventional thinking. Or perhaps it's because you like the unique. aged texture that comes with time.
If there were ten people. there would likely be ten different answers.
But above all. the most important thing is that the act of searching for that treasure amidst all the accumulated things is. for us. the ultimate form of play.
There are surprising stories hidden in items that seem hard to understand. or a folk craft from a country you've never been to suddenly makes your heart skip a beat. Maybe you'll even learn about the unknown history of a familiar brand. It's those thrilling experiences that draw us to flea markets. vintage shops. and recycling stores.
