The JAPAN EDITION collection was developed by a Japanese design team to suit Japan's climate and trends. The original field coat. which originated as a hunting coat first introduced in 1924. has been updated with new materials. specifications. and fit. While its dull sheen and deep color give it a heavy feel. this coat is lightweight and warm thanks to its 3D-structured stretch padding and next-generation 3DeFX+® insulation. The product has been treated with a ball bio wash for a smoother. suede-like feel.

For off-white and light-colored items. please use a non-fluorescent detergent.
Do not soak or leave wet.
Dark colors may transfer to other items when rubbed or wet. so please be careful when wearing them with white or light colors.
Please avoid ironing the corduroy part.

After the company's founder. Leon Leonwood Bean. introduced the "Maine Duck Hunting Coat" in 1924. improvements were made to meet the demands of the times. and the current "Original Field Coat" was born in 1947.
Furthermore. we have updated the materials. specifications. and fit. and have created a special piece that is unique to the Japan Edition. where the contrast between the heavy appearance and the lightness is felt once you put it on.
By applying a ball bio-wash process to the product. the raised surface of the fabric is emphasized. giving it a smoother suede feel.
