In the 1960s. the Fillmore was a live music venue that played an important role in the transformation and growth of the music scene in San Francisco. the center of counterculture.
Starting as the Fillmore Auditorium. it evolved into Fillmore West and Fillmore East in New York. It is also famous for the many masterpieces of live recordings it has recorded.
At the same time. the huge number of live music posters it created had a huge influence on later artists.
They created innovative art posters for each event. which were called a fusion of modernism and psychedelic art that embodied hallucinatory experiences. and distributed them free of charge to visitors who requested them.
The posters that still exist from that time are traded at high prices among collectors.
One such collector is Hirohisa Yokoyama. former member of IRREPARABLE ACTS.
This T-shirt is a mysterious. unpublished poster art that Yokoyama himself designed around 1970 and was in his possession. having actually performed live at the Fillmore East.
The design was rejected at the time because "the meaning of the kanji characters in it was unknown." but it was miraculously discovered in a well-preserved state and has now been made into a T-shirt.
