DOEK is a footwear manufacturer in Kurume that has been making sneakers for 140 years. The name 'DOEK' is Dutch. from which the Japanese word 'zook' is derived. Originally. it meant 'textile'. Kurume Kasuri is a textile that has taken root in Kurume for 200 years. We have always made products using Kurume Kasuri. When we make trainers. we have a very simple idea. We make attractive fabrics. or we look for them and make good quality trainers.
The DOEK SLIP-ON is a slip-on type that is easy to put on and take off. The sole part has the same specifications as the inner-feather type model 'OXFORD'. with moderate volume and elasticity. The canvas mainly used is a coarse one woven on Kurume Kasuri looms. The raw fabric is not dyed. so the original texture of the fabric can be fully appreciated without the fabric becoming thin. The footbed is made of cork. a naturally breathable material. The Vulcanisation process. which is painstakingly handcrafted. produces a daily necessity in terms of beauty. wearability and durability for today's lifestyle.
